Content vs Design: Where to Start
Connecting with your audience requires eye-catching design and share-worthy content. How can you connect and engage?
Your content is the words and images you use every day to tell your organizations story. Whether you are showcasing your products, talking about your services, or simply sharing valuable resources, content creation and design are what people see first when they look at your organization. This means that what you put out there has a direct impact on how people perceive your business and brand.
Choosing your words carefully and strategically help build your organizations brand image. If you use slang in your writing it has a different appeal than if written with proper language rules, so it is important to know your audience. If you’re running for mayor it may not be appropriate to use slang words as it may be taken the wrong way with older generations. However, if you’re trying to appeal to younger generations perhaps using slang words can be to your benefit. It all depends on your audience.
While choosing words for your content is important, the graphic design brings those words to life. Visual content like fonts, colours, images, and graphics give more meaning to the words itself and can invoke more emotion into your content. It is important to get the wording and content finalized before this stage as you need to reflect the key message in the design process, and that is hard to do if you haven’t figured out what you want to say.
If all of this seems like a daunting task or if you are confused on where to start you might need to take a step back and focus on your strategy. We can help you by helping you come up with a marketing strategy and asking the right questions for your business to succeed.
